An Introduction to NHF
National Health Foundation was established in 1973. A nonprofit leader in improving access to healthcare for the underserved, NHF develops projects that promote effective healthcare delivery and ultimately, better personal health. Based in Los Angeles and with a presence in Washington, DC, NHF supports programs that not only bridge gaps in healthcare, but also have the potential to be replicated nationally.
Patient Safety First...a California Partnership for Health
A peer to peer learning collaborative working to improve patient safety and perinatal care across California. A presentation of the National Health Foundation in collaboration with Anthem Blue Cross and the Regional Hospital Associations of California.
Pregnant and Parenting Teens
National Health Foundation helps pregnant and parenting teens to finish their education and avoid a second, unplanned pregnancy. Through this free, educational program delivered within the walls of inner city schools, over 500 students (both female and male) have successfully finished high school, received a GED diploma or have gone on to college. PPT support includes weekly learning sessions, guest speakers, personal counseling, information about pregnancy, delivery and infant care, as well as connections to public resources. Funded by the Harold Edelstein Foundation, the students know this service by the name, "Harold Cares About Your Future.">
